Today’s accomplishment is getting in 10 miles by noon! We started in Hatley, which is where we ended last night. Today was colder than yesterday, but the sun was out, which made a big difference. This hike was also on the road and pretty uneventful. We passed a few ginseng farms, heard 1 gun shot, and we didn’t see any hunters. Overall it was a quiet morning.
The highlight of the day was finding a section of future trail! There is a chunk of land south of Hatley that the Ice Age Alliance owns where they have started to put out flags to make possible trail. There was a sign with a map of the property. It appears that there will be a blue blaze trail in addition to the regular yellow blaze trail. They also have flags in reference to a DCA (designated camp area).
The hike ended at Mission Lake County Park, which is where we started yesterday.
